November 2011: Singing Hands wins GOLD Award

Such a great bit of new to report this month – our second DVD ‘It’s Signing Time 2’ has been awarded a prestigious Gold Practical Pre-School Award 2011 in the Music and Multimedia category. We scored a whopping 97.8%.

Testers said: “A fantastic resource, which facilitates development across all areas of the EYFS and sustained the children’s interest and enthusiasm. The children loved this DVD and needed no encouragement to join in! They were very quickly singing along, copying the actions and signing. We had a child with EAL in the class and she loved joining in with the singing, asking for the DVD to be played each day”

Thank you to all our lovely families who helped make this DVD – be it in the scorching heat in Kew trying to be a scarecrow, driving round the streets of Twickers on the big red bus or elsewhere – it was all worth it :)

NCT Birth, Baby and Beyond Fair

Singing Hands is delighted to be exhibiting at this years NCT Birth, Baby and Beyond Fair on Saturday 22 October 2011.
We will be holding free taster sessions at the fair at 12pm and 1pm so come along with your children and enjoy the fun!

December 2010: Singing Hands: ITV1 Carols at Christmas

The festive filming at CHASE Children’s Hospice was completed on 12th December with a huge choir and lots of families, volunteers and care staff all singing Christmas Carols. The setting looked magical with lots of twinkly lights and decorations. The programme is called “Carols at Christmas” and is introduced by Simon Cowell along with lots of other celebrity appearances throughout. The programme will be on ITV1 on Thursday 23rd December at 10.50-11.50pm and a half-hour version of the programme will be shown on Christmas Day at 9.25am. Hopefully you’ll be able to catch a little glimpse of the two of us amongst the congregation singing and signing to Away in a Manger/Silent Night and a little bit of us singing with the children too.
