Nursery World Magazine – Jun, 2007
We were delighted to be invited by Nursery World , a leading weekly publication for early years and childcare practitioners, to write an article about the signing and singing sessions that we run for our Local Education Authority. The article covers how we aim to promote inclusion of children with additional needs by signing with all children, plus news of our visit to the Education Centre for Children with Down Syndrome in Darlington.
Please note: when Nursery World typeset the article, a couple of errors occurred which we just need to clarify here to avoid any misunderstanding. Our website address was printed incorrectly (but as you are reading this, you will have managed to find us!). Secondly, our Something Special Nursery Rhymes episodes are now available on DVD (the article says not available). You can find out how to purchase the DVDs via the Makaton Website. Finally, our LEA bought copies of Widgit software for all the settings we visit (not just five settings as mentioned in the article).
