The Children's Hospital School at Great Ormond Street, Spring Term 2007 – Feb, 2007

What an amazing term we’ve had this Spring. We were delighted to be invited to run weekly workshops with the children at the Hospital School at Great Ormond Street, introducing them to signs for the alphabet, colours, animals, counting and vehicles through songs, stories and games. During our visits we spend some of our time going to see any school-aged children who are unable to leave their room or ward. We take our bags of toys and instruments and offer an impromptu sing-song at their bedside – and often some of the staff have joined in too!

As Suzanne writes “having spent lots and lots of time at GOSH with my own daughter, it has been fantastic to go back to the Hospital under completely different circumstances and to try and help other children take their minds off being poorly, even if only for a short time”.

The response from the children, parents and staff has been terrific and we are pleased to report that the school have invited us to come back for another term after the Easter Break for more signing and singing fun!
